Staring down the viewfinder of my camera is a far cry from my initial roots as a Royal Marine Commando. Being part of this unique group, and working with some of the best people I have known has made me realise how important it is to keep photographs to remind you of such special memories. My days of covering myself in camouflage, plunging through icy rivers at 4am and running distances of 30 miles through arduous terrain is long behind me now. However the determination that earned me that coveted Green Beret is still very much alive!
In short, I am a guy who is more than happy to get my hands dirty and lay in the mud if needed in order to capture that exquisite shot on your wedding day. I know what you are thinking…. But screaming and shouting at guests is not my style! Just like the camouflage days, I am discreet, friendly, and will document your day as the story unfolds. After an injury that brought my career in the Marines to a disheartening end, I had to soon find something equally as gratifying in order to fill the void. This led me on to a new path. I worked in South East Asia and Australia for two years, and this is where my love affair with photography was born!
I picked up my first DSLR camera as I felt compelled to record such beautiful scenery, and capture the mystery that surrounded such mesmerising wildlife and unique, diverse cultures. Photographing wildlife was and still is a huge part of my life! On returning from my adventures overseas, I decided to branch out from nature photography and expand my skills to weddings, unbeknown to me that this initial passion of mine would develop into such a rewarding career.
